In Chapter VI, H.P. Blavatsky continued with the subject of the Root-Races.
(Chapter VI). GIANTS, CIVILIZATIONS, AND SUBMERGED CONTINENTS TRACED IN HISTORY: In Chapter V, H.P. Blavatsky focused on migrations from the south into the north during the transitional phase from the close of the Fourth Root-Race into the Fifth Root-Race, but in Chapter VI she focused on migrations from the north into the south. This is why a new cycle like the 3rd Sub-Race of the Fifth Root-Race, or the "Aryan race," is "born and developed in the far north, though after the sinking of the continent of Atlantis its tribes emigrated further south into Asia," per The Secret Doctrine 2:768. The African migration northwards met the European migration southwards from the Hyperborean Atlantean Fourth Root-Race in its final seventh Sub-Race. The Cimmerians, the Arimaspes, the Pelasgians, and the Scyths all belonged as descendants to the Family Races of the seventh Sub-Race and established the Fifth Root-Race across the Eurasian continent, per The Secret Doctrine 2:774. At first, the Fifth Root-Race was Mongolo-Turanian in the 1st and 2nd Sub-Races, then it became Hindu-Aryan in the 3d Sub-Race, and finally European in the 4th Sub-Race. H.P. Blavatsky wrote on this transformation in The Secret Doctrine 2:753 when the "third sub-race of the Aryan stock, which sub-race--born and developed in Europe and Asia Minor under new climates and conditions--had become European." Since Europe is the Fifth Continent, it is only natural that its kernel in the 4th Sub-Race is European. This 4th Sub-Race consists of all sorts of human colors; nevertheless, it is still European. Of course, it must be remembered that "Sub-races guided by Karmic law or destiny repeat unconsciously the first steps of their mother-races." That is, the Hindu-Aryan 3rd Sub-Race repeated itself in the Indo-European 3rd Family Race of the 4th Sub-Race, just as the 4th Sub-Race repeated itself in the minor cycle of the 4th European National Race in that 3rd Family Race. Let us provide some examples of this pattern. In The Secret Doctrine 2:750, H.P. Blavatsky described the "archaic records" of the "Initiates of the Second Sub-Race of the Aryan family moving from one land to the other for the purpose of supervising the building of menhirs and dolmens, of colossal Zodiacs in stone." On the one hand, the term "Aryan family" refers to the 2nd and 3rd Sub-Races of the Fifth Root-Race. How do we know? H.P. Blavatsky asked the rhetorical question, "When was it?" and she answered, "The fact of their crossing from France to Great Britain by land may give an idea of the date when such a journey could have been performed on terra firma." Since the land bridge between France and Great Britain began to sink some half a million years ago, it is a reference to the 2nd and 3rd Sub-Races. But on the other hand, the term "Aryan family" also refers to a much smaller cycle of the 2nd and 3rd National Races in the Indo-European Family Race whose members repeated the behavior of their "mother-races" and built Stonehenge in Great Britain. In Studies on page 136, G. de Purucker dated Stonehenge to "an age not less than the pyramids, maybe a little younger." Moreover, in The Secret Doctrine 2:748, H.P. Blavatsky mentioned the "three more or less distinct stages, in Europe at least." If one reviews her statement in The Secret Doctrine 2:433, it becomes immediately clear that the "last three family races of the fourth Sub-race" or these three "distinct stages" has a dual meaning: it does apply to three National Races preceding the current one (the 4th) which eventually see the submersion of Poseidonis some 11,500 years ago, but it also applies to the three Family Races of that 4th Sub-Race which experience the preliminary stages leading to the submersion of Poseidonis. In The Secret Doctrine 2:742, Jean-Sylvain Bailly criticized Voltaire's 18th-century interest in the "Brahmans," remarking that "your Brahmans are very young in comparison with their ancient instructors." But what Bailly did not realize is that Voltaire's "Brahmans" were simply instructed by an older version of themselves. For example, the 7th Sub-Race in the Third Root-Race can be considered "Brahmans." As H.P. Blavatsky adduced in The Secret Doctrine 2:769, "Thus nearly all the gods of Egypt, Greece, and Phoenicia, as well as those of other Pantheons, are of a northern origin [ed. the "Brahmans"] and originated in Lemuria, towards the close of the Third Race, after its full physical and physiological evolution had been completed." In addition, the 3rd Sub-Race in the Fifth Root-Race can be considered "Brahmans." Finally, the 3rd Family Race in the 4th Sub-Race can be considered "Brahmans." In this commentary, we have tried to create a demarcation between these three groups by referring to them in serial order: 1) Aryan as the 7th Sub-Race of the Third Root-Race 2) Hindu-Aryan as the 3rd Sub-Race of the Fifth Root-Race 3) Indo-European as the 3rd Family Race of the 4th Sub-Race of the Fifth Root-Race. All these "Brahmans" came into Europe from the north and from the south. In Europe, they intermarried with Africans who had migrated northwards, thereby producing the early racial cycles in the 4th Sub-Race of the Fifth Root-Race."
