The Secret Doctrine, Volume 1:16-17

In her Second Fundamental Proposition, H.P. Blavatsky described the serial explosion of central points gliding along the "boundless plane" of the immaculate white disk, or "Eternity of the Universe in toto" as a twelve-fold world system, to plunge into the "playground" of numberless secondary Universes. The secondary Universes are named "the manifesting stars" and "sparks of Eternity" because they originate in the shining central points. Each central point is a "Pilgrim" monad that arises from potentiality in the immaculate white disk, travels through the dull black ground, and becomes an active participant in its own newly created, seven-fold Universe. Being beyond the seven-fold nature of the secondary Universe, it is referred to as "eternal and immortal." Being "indivisible" from the immaculate white disk and the dull black ground, it dashes away from its Father-Mother, or "Universal Spirit," only to re-enter it at the appointed time. The Father-Mother resides in the central point and the central point resides in the Father-Mother--both positions for understanding the ground of existence being equally valid to human reason. This dialectic where two truths define the One Principle accounts for the division of "Day and Night, Life and Death, Sleeping and Waking" in the Mundane Egg.
